Thanks to our wonderful location on the banks of the River Dee, it’s the perfect place to cast your rod with the Banchory Beat right in front of us. We can arrange fishing for you and even have a box to store rods overnight. If there is a group of you, take a look at Cobbleheugh, our private hideaway with 6 ensuite bedrooms, your own dining room, lounge, snug and garden with views to die for. We can cater for you privately to ensure you enjoy the exclusivity that Cobbleheugh brings. Ask us for details.
We do love when you bring your pooch with you to stay at The Lodge. We’ve got dog-friendly rooms with doors out to our terrace so that you can head off for a walk at the drop of a hat. Also, your canine friend is allowed to dine in the Bar with you and, if allowed, we will provide a treat along with a bowl of water. Royal Deeside is the perfect playground for doggy walks along the River Dee and surrounding area.
Prince Charles opened his own restaurant – The Rothesay Rooms along with a Highgrove Shop in the beautiful town of Ballater, only 30 minutes from The Lodge back in 2016. Initially it was a temporary pop-up restaurant to help tourism following Storm Frank in 2015 but it became so popular it is now a permanent fixture. With an award-winning chef at the helm, it is well worth a visit whilst staying with us.
This beautiful and stunning road winds its way through Banchory and into the Cairngorms National Park. Whilst possible to do in one day, if you want to chill and relax, take 2 or 3 days out to do it justice and stay at The Lodge.
With Balmoral Castle only 40 miles away from The Lodge, it’s only a matter of time for Harry and Meghan to make an appearance on the Royal Estate, so loved by the Queen. But where else can you go when you stay here with us? Crathes Castle is a mere 10 minutes by car and Drum Castle just a couple of miles further on. If you are exploring castles, we make the perfect base.
One night at The lodge is never enough – so why not make it two . . .
